The best regional example that I know of is this: Kulturpark Eisenstrasse is an association consisting of several municipalities involving many locals in the collection of a "cultural memory" of the whole region - unfortunately this webportal is in German only. I put material in English online in the file section of our yahoogroup which is worth joining! FranzNahrada 14.11.2005
