A Message from Gleb Tyurin

Dear supporters of our upcoming film about unlocking the local potentials in Russia!

I have just returned from a filming trip and have some Russian examples which should be complemented with international ones

Here is what do I have now and what I do need:

- I have some material which shows that it is possible to build what the Russian President calls “Clever economy” (based on knowledge and ability of people to use new technologies and what more, reproduce them)

I have filmed small few cases

• 1) A furniture factory placed in rural area nearby Tver (about 300 km. from Moscow) which id rather successful. Their success is due to the fact that they have rather advanced machinery and most of it is constructed and built there by themselves..
• 2) I have another story of that kind. Also local factory processing timber and also with its own machinery.
• 3) Tula region. Story about unusual way of cattle breeding (in open air all year round) which gives people ability to earn about 30 000 rubles a month with 30 cows (not bad for Russian countryside)/ This is a way that can be called non-industrial
• 4) Tver region. The story that farmers can get through to the market and built their own markets facilities if they unite and cooperate
• 5) Tula region. New way of building houses (energy efficient, and low price – it can cost about 350 000 rubles a house about 80 square meters, two stores)
• 6) Kaluga region. Software designer living in an ecovillage earning 30 000 roubles a month.

I NOW NEED INTERNATIONAL EXAMPLES OF COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BASED ON INNOVATIVE WAYS AND NEW TECHNOLOGIES

- cases that shows some advanced experience in agricultural production
- nonagricultural small industries in rural areas
- local energy supply and electricity production
- Outsourcing (bookkeeping, call centers, etc) (see: http://www.kistaffing.com/ )

It should be a short story.

I WLL ALSO APPRECIATE SOME MATERIAL (pictures) showing different kind of small technologies. All Kind of small technologies. You see in the text I say that these small techniques are one of the main possibilities for local development. And we need to show these technologies.
