Dont feel embarassed or rejected if you do not match this description a hundred percent - we want people who participate to be different and have different outlooks and perspectives, experiences and contributions.

Nevertheless this could give you a good impression of what we want to achieve this this workshop.

The ideal participant

  • can be old or young, man or woman, professional educator or amateur, but has a passion for the development of a community, a village, a region. She or he knows that adult education can deliver important help and means to get things going. Before something develops in reality, very often it has to grow in the mind.
  • is seeking for a way to not only motivate and integrate people in this community, but also to make available to them resources that have previously been not available. She or he knows, that modern technology can sometimes be helpful - if applied right.
  • is in good terms with sponsors and supporters, maybe also the regional magagement or government, which could lead to an experimental situation. The village or place that she or he cares for could play the role of a "global village" for the entire region. Which means it could be the place where, with the help of communication technology, global learning could take place.
In fact, we have already found some of our participants being in exactly that circumstance. Maybe you can get additional support to perticipate in Vienna by promoting this idea. We have a successful Global Village example in the Styrian region of Vulkanland, namely Kirchbach. Kirchbach managed to bring 80 university lectures and many other learning events by videobridge to the local population.
