How do we create entire communities where humans live in reciprocity with their natural surrounding?

Living Future Ambassador Neal Collins about the Living Community Challenge, a framework for master planning, design, and construction put forth by the International Living Future Institute.

A Living Community is rooted in place and adapted to its climate and site. These communites harvest their own energy and have closed-loop water cycles. The design encourages a symbiotic relationship between people and all aspects of the built environment.

Learn about communities that are:

- Healthy for all elements of life

- Nurturing and generous places that promote healthy lifestyles for everyone

- Net Positive with respect to water and energy.

- Desgined using multipurpose elements.

- Regenerative spaces for people and natural ecosystems

- Places that are walkable, bike-able, and have affordable public transportation.

LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) is an internationally recognized green building certification system, providing third-party verification that a building or community was designed and built using strategies aimed at improving performance across all the metrics that matter most: energy savings, water ..
