This is the Wiki of the
MIR Learning Partnership

Formed in Sintra, November 2005, based on a suggestion by the Portuguese Socrates National Agency, reconfirmed and kicked off in Episkopi, Cyprus, October 2006, active until summer 2009 and then hopefully continuing.
MIR means the integration of three key elements in Adult Education for Local Development
Motivation of people to become local actors
Involvement and integration of local actors in regional development agreements
Resources – Knowledge experience; know-how
MIR is also WORLD and PEACE in Russian
("MIRU MIR " means "PEACE to the WORLD")

Main Goal
Integrate the main functions of education in regional development, by:
motivating people to become local actors,
get them involved and integrated in the process and
explore models to provide broader resources of knowledge and experience
Objectives
Exchange information, experiences and good practices developed by the partners at national level
Import and adapt existent methodologies at other realities and contexts
Integrate and train learners from our regions to assure most efficient learning process
Disseminate methodologies among transnational partners
Disseminate the project results outside the partner’s organizations
