See the difference between Irish Columban and Anglo Saxon Bonifatius.

The latter cut the Donar - Oak in Fritzlar. I dont think the Irish would have appreciated such a hostile attititude towards traditional cults, they worked more subtly (athough Gallus threw a statue into the water) can anybody help me with research?
