We recommend a four stage process:
The following process focuses on preparing village leaders for project implementation and to meet funding requirements. Stage 1 – Preparation of a virtual meeting to identify areas of innovation for rural development and identify and recruit practitioners from these areas
• Identify objectives/needs/interest of observers • Set discussion topics agenda for the first virtual meeting • Start identifying key practitioners/experts/advisors • Identify tools and models if we decide we want to test or use one at this stageStage 2 – Virtual meeting (target w1 December) to bring together core team for F2F meeting to share progress, set agenda, and possibly have an intro session with some practitioners
• Identify key areas of innovation (see attachment for suggestions) • Identify participants for F2F (and/or set criteria for participation) • Identify /suggest experts/advisors • Agree format of meeting (Village sustainability Jam) • Quick review of suitable tools and processesStage 3 – Preparation of F2F meeting to invite the most relevant and promising ‘newbies’ that need help to prepare for development or implementation of their rural innovation ideas
• Planning and organization for F2F Meeting • Dependent of outcome of Stage 1 and 2 but covering the agenda agreed at the virtual meetingStage 4 – F2F Village Innovation Summit (target February to April 2012) to identify and agree further areas for cooperation and exploration between practitioners and newbie’s and outline a process for accelerating implementation of ideas
• Focus on a core set of innovation areas and actors from this space • Demonstrate concrete actionable advice based on real life projects that can be leveraged for others that are interested • Focus on work sessions, jam like, to have lots of interactive Q&As that lead to outlining the projects for the newbies • Get newbies to apply content and knowledge to their local area and present a draft action plan that is meaningful to them, the practioners to comment and add value to it • Produce meaningful documentation of the summit that can be shared with others (video, photos, interviews, action plans, addresses, contact names etc)VillageInnovationSummit/Organisation | ||||||||||||||||
